Steel Fabrication
Vessels, Heat Exchangers and Tanks:
Hyatt Tech Services: Lorne Hyatt has been designing ASME VIII-1 Pressure Vessels, ASME VIII-1 / TEMA Heat Exchangers and API-650 Tanks for more than 35 years. I (Jeff Currie) have prepared detailed fabrication drawings for approximately 1,000 of these projects while working at T. W. Gray Eng. and continue to do so, as JCDS.
JCDS works directly for a number of local Fabricators on these projects but all drawings are reviewed by Lorne Hyatt of HTS. Design and drawings are reviewed and certified by Renzo Ferrera (P. Eng.) of Collins-Ferrera Engineering Inc.
Structural:
JCDS has been involved in hundreds of building projects providing drawings and technical support for the structural design. The structural design for any building project should be reviewed by a Professional Structural Engineer and in most cases requires their certification.
JCDS has a well rounded understanding of building structures, having been involved from both the Engineering side and the steel detailing side. Whether a client requires structural drawings for a building project or steel detailing for fabrication, JCDS can meet or exceed our Client’s needs. There are many different types of building construction and many different components that are required to complete a building project. At JCDS we keep up to date with available building construction materials and with the latest building code requirements.
Architectural:
An Architect is a registered professional who plans, designs and oversees the construction of buildings. A client would be well advised to retain the services of an Architect for any building project. JCDS has over 30 years experience with the planning, design and drafting of hundreds of buildings. An Architect was involved in most of these projects but there are some cases where an Architect is not required including residential, Pre-Eng buildings and in some smaller scale buildings. Whether an Architect has direct involvement with a building project or not, they should be consulted for any potential Code issue’s.
JCDS Drafting Disciplines:
JCDS has experience preparing drawings in a number of other areas including:
• Civil: Subdivision layout, Site Plans and Plan and Profiles.
• Electrical: Commercial and Residential Plans.
• Mechanical: Commercial and Residential Plans.
• Plumbing: Commercial and Residential.
Note: A Qualified Professional should be involved in most Projects undertaken by JCDS. They should be a Qualified Designer, CET, Professional Engineer or Architect. Most Projects require Certification before Construction can begin.
